Pinewood Derby car kits can can be bought at hobby shops, online or places like Michael's/Hobby Lobby, etc
There will also be a used car lot with a few cars for purchase the day of the race. I also have kits for pick up if needed.

PINEWOOD DERBY KEGGER OFFICIAL RULES (download here)
GENERAL:
- G-1. Essential Materials: All cars entered shall be constructed from an official Pinewood Derby Kit. (or similar approved kit)
- G-2. Competitor Categories: Participants will compete with others in the same class. Racers must be present or have someone on site register/race the car. Adults 12 and up and kids 11 and under.
- G-3. "Inspection and Entry": The inspection judges at race-day check-in are responsible to evaluate each car's adherence to the technical standards and eligibility. Cars will be turned in for weighing and inspection before competition begins. Once turned in, the car must stay on the staging table until competition is complete. No more car preparation of any kind is allowed after car is weighed, inspected, and accepted. Any racer that re-lubricates his car, adds weight to his car or otherwise alters his car during the race will immediately be disqualified.
- G-4. "Construction": Accessories, body finish, decoration, etc are allowed. Creativity is encouraged.
- G-5. "Emergency Repairs": Emergency repairs will be allowed if approved by the committee.
ALL CARS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS
- Each participant may enter one (1)car. (or find someone else to enter another car)
- Cars not registered before designated cut off time (6:45 PM) will not be eligible for official race. NO LATE ENTRIES.
- If at registration, a car does not pass inspection, the owner will be informed of the reason for the failure, and will be given time within the official weigh-in time period to make adjustments.
- After registration, inspection and weigh-in the car will be impounded. You will not be allowed access to your car until the end of the event.
EXCEPTION: Race officials may authorize repairs when damage is caused by collision with another vehicle or object. Repairs must be completed within a limited time allowed by the Race Officials.
- Heats may be re-run at the discretion of the race officials. I.e. fouled track, broken car, etc.)
- If a car is damaged, the owner will be allowed 5 minutes to make repairs.
- After final approval, cars may be re-inspected if they are damaged in handling or in a race.
- If a car jumps the track and interferes with the race- the race may be run again. If the same car jumps the track a second time, that car will automatically place last in that race.
- Any racer that re-lubricates his car, adds weight to his car or otherwise alters his car during the race may immediately be disqualified.
TECHNICAL STANDARDS
- ONLY an official Pinewood Derby kit or similar shape and race kit should be used (or similar approved kit). Pre-cut blocks are allowed. Wheels must be BSA stamped or similar shape and race wheels.
No Hub caps please, (they fall off) or modified wheels.
- Width - overall width will not exceed 2-3/4 inches
- Length - over all length will not exceed 7 inches; Wheels will not extend past the front or rear of the car body.
- Width -between wheels will not be less than 1-3/4 inches
- Bottom Clearance - clearance between car and track will not be less than 1/4 inch
- Weight will not exceed 5 ounces.(as weighed using scale at race event)
- Height will not exceed 4" so that it will clear most tracks.
- Staging: The entire car must stage behind the starting line.
-The cars will rest against a starting pin; therefore it is advisable that they do not come to a sharp point in front.
-Due to a short starting pin, the front end should not be any higher than 1/4 inch above the axle line.
-Racers should indicate what is the front and back of the car when registering. (Mark bottom of car with arrow)
-Body: The car body may have no moving parts.
-Prohibited Items: The following items are PROHIBITED:
-Springs B. Starting devices or propellants C. Liquids, wet paint, oil, sticky substance, or powders of any kind (other than axle lubrication) D. Glass or excessively - Fragile parts F. Wheel bearings G.Loose objects on car H. Magnets
-You may not change the wheel dimensions. Wheels may not be rounded, pointed, concave, shaved or otherwise modified. You may, however, sand the tread or tire contact area of the wheel to smooth out the rough spots. Wheel bearings, washers, and bushings are prohibited. The car will not ride on springs of any type. Wheel covers or hub caps are prohibited, the head of the nail must be visible for inspection. The axles (nails) maybe polished and stamping imperfections removed but the shape and size of the head may not be altered. The recommended wheel and axle lubricant is dry, powdered graphite.-
-At least 3 wheels must be touching the track
-All cars will be free wheeling with no starting devices. Magnets and slip weights are prohibited. All weights must be securely attached to the car.
Inspection: Each car must pass an inspection by the official Inspection Committee before it may complete. The inspectors have the right to disqualify those cars which do not meet the rules and specifications outlined above.
-If a car does not pass inspection, the owner will be informed of the reason for failure and will be given a time within the official registration period to make adjustments.
-Don't argue with the race officials or be a jerk.
-All decisions by race officials and judges are final and not subject to appeal.
